Don’t let the world forget
The art of the swallows’ flight at dusk
Or the wonder in a droplet of rain
Or a new Mother’s final struggle
Pushed in pain for innocence
Don’t let it have lost the mistakes
Of youth in all their magnificence
The hurt from absence or the magic of love
Don’t let it forget us as we half stumble,
Half crush the seconds from the minutes
In our rush to hold the days to ransom
Till at your feet they slowly gather dust
